Ghana is guaranteed to hang its first Olympic medal since the 1992 Olympics thanks to the young boxer Samuel Takyi.

The featherweight (less than 57 kilos) won his quarterfinal against Colombian Ceiber David Avila Segura, on points (3-2), this Sunday, August 1 in Tokyo.

Samuel Takyi is now certain to be at least a bronze medalist because there is no “small final” in boxing.

After this very close fight, he will face the American Duke Ragan on Tuesday for a place in the final.
