It has been an eventful day for Simon Pettersson and Daniel Ståhl.

The athletics stars wrote themselves in the history books yesterday.

But before returning home, they were not quite done with their Olympic experience.

Smuggled into handball

Due to the current situation, those active at the Olympics can only watch their own sport and do not even have the right to enter other arenas.

But that did not stop the men's national handball team and the discus heroes from bending the rules and finding a loophole.

Because when Sweden today faced Denmark, both Ståhl and Pettersson appeared in the arena and sat together with the Swedish staff and the reserves in the stands section.

It then turned out that the handball national team has smuggled in the Olympic medalists for the match.

- They're part of the squad tonight.

Simon is the assistant press manager and Daniel the assistant materials manager.

They helped Bosse Nilsson, our materialist, to carry bags, says handball's press manager Daniel Vandor to Sportbladet and continues:

- They wanted to follow and watch the match, so then they went with us in the player bus.

When it was time for the Swedish national anthem, Daniel Ståhl stood up and proudly waved the Swedish flag.
