Strenius finished seventh in the last WC, 2019 in Thailand, so this is a great success for the Swedish weightlifter - even if it is a bit up to the medals.

The Swede, who competes in the 76-kilo class, was second last of the eight in the final even after the first moment, jerk.

Only in the third and final attempt did Strenius take her entry weight 102 kilos in jerk, three kilos from her own Swedish record.

In the second moment shock, Strenius managed 133 kilos for a total result of 235 kilos.

It is three kilos worse than her Swedish record.

Strenius also made an attempt at the Swedish record weight of 138 kilos in shock, but failed.

The end was dramatic when both the Ukrainian Iryna Dechna and Kim Suhyeaon from South Korea, who were ahead of the Swede, completely failed in the shock moment and were without results.

There will be a new Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo.

Reigning Olympic and World Cup champion Rim Jong Sim from North Korea is missing from the competition because her country is boycotting the games in Tokyo.
