A rain of medals fell on the French delegation on Saturday at the Tokyo Olympics.
The judokas became the first Olympic champions of the mixed team event to the detriment of Japan, at home.
Four silver charms were added by the windsurfers, the Bleues of rugby sevens and the sabers.
The triathletes won bronze.
So many medals this Saturday for the Blues! We weren't really used to it since the start of the Tokyo Olympics, but the French athletes performed all day. No less than six medals were collected, including the Olympic title of the French judo team led by Teddy Riner and Clarisse Agbegnenou in the first mixed team competition at the Olympics. Charline Picon and Thomas Goyard each gleaned silver in windsurfing, as did the Bleues in rugby sevens, beaten in the final by New Zealand, and the sabers who bowed against the Russians in the match for gold. Finally, the mixed triathlon team took the third step of the podium with the bronze medal.
At the same time, a few expected French athletes entered the competition in athletics.
Renaud Lavillenie qualified for the pole vault final.
Pierre-Ambroise Bosse in the 800 meters and Jimmy Vicaut in the 100 meters both made it to the semi-finals.
On the other hand, Mélina Robert-Michon did not pass the qualifying mark.
The French delegation has 19 medals and goes back to 8th place in the standings.

The French judokas are the first Olympic team champions!
Magnificent performance of the French judo team with
Teddy Riner
and
Clarisse Agbegnenou
! The French swept the Japanese in the final of the first mixed team event (4-1) in the temple of judo. After a difficult match in the quarterfinals against Israel (4-3), and despite a health walk in the semis against the Netherlands (4-0), the French judokas did not start favorites in the final against several Japanese Olympic champions in individual. Clarisse Agbegnenou first launched the Blues with a victory over ippon, then Axel Clerget did the same in the second relay.

If
Romane Dicko
stumbled in the third round, the star Teddy Riner then overpowered his opponent Aaron Wolf, gold medalist in the -100 kilos, on waza-ari with the golden score.
It is the young
Sarah Léonie-Cysique
, 23, who delivered the France team thanks to a well-defended waza-ari until the end of regulation time.
The French judokas bring back a fourth gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics, the 8th all metals combined for tricolor judo.
The Tokyo Games are the finest harvest in the history of the discipline in France.
The silver windsurf boards of Charline Picon and Thomas Goyard
The French windsurfers had validated the medal on Thursday, and it remained to know the color.
It is ultimately the money for
Charline Picon
and
Thomas Goyard
who do honor to French windsurfing.
Charline Picon first won the last regatta on Saturday but could not catch up with the Chinese Lu Yunxiu in light wind conditions.
The 36-year-old Rochelaise climbed to the second step of the podium, five years after her Olympic title in Rio in 2016.
Charline Picon VICE-OLYMPIC CHAMPION in RS: X sailing!
She won her second Olympic medal after gold in 2016 in Rio.

Martiniquais Thomas Goyard also won the silver a little later in the morning.
Behind the untouchable Dutch Kiran Badloe, the Frenchman managed to consolidate his second place at the expense of the Chinese Bi Kun and the Italian Mattia Camboni, in the hides.
Thomas Goyard offers himself an Olympic medal for his first participation in the Olympics.
The Bleues of rugby sevens and saber also silver medalists
Two great teams from France who can also savor the silver charm at the Tokyo Games.
The Bleues of rugby sevens
first climbed on the second step of the podium after their defeat in the final against the New Zealand women, big favorites for the gold medal (26-12). Despite Caroline Drouin's try in response to the All Blacks at the start of the match, the France team was dominated throughout the game. The French can however be proud of their journey, during which they beat Great Britain in the semi-finals a little earlier (26-19). It is the first medal for France in this discipline.

Beautiful course to also be credited to
the tricolor sabers
.
Manon Brunet, individual bronze medalist at the start of the week, and her teammates narrowly lost the final against the Russian athletes (45-41) and therefore grabbed the silver.
The game started well with the French in front after the fourth round, but the Russians raised their level of play to win in the end.
Les Bleues played in the first Olympic team saber final in the history of French fencing and brought the discipline's fourth charm to France at the Tokyo Games.
Nice end note for the French triathlon with bronze
The double triathlon world champion
Vincent Luis will
not leave empty-handed from the Tokyo Olympics. In the mixed relay event, the 32-year-old athlete took the bronze medal along with
Léonie Périault, Dorian Coninx and Cassandre Beaugrand.
The Habs came behind Olympic champion Great Britain and the United States in second after a tremendous comeback in the second part of the race. This is the first Olympic medal in the history of the discipline for France.

In athletics, the disappointment Mélina Robert-Michon, Renaud Lavillenie in the final
Mélina Robert-Michon
will not see the discus throw final.
Silver medalist at the Rio Olympics in 2016, the 41-year-old athlete already leaves the Tokyo Games in qualifying with an insufficient throw at 60.88 meters.
On the other hand, it goes for Renaud Lavillenie on pole vault who will play in the final on Tuesday (12:20 pm French time) thanks to a bar at 5.75 meters crossed on the first try.
In the 800 meters,
Pierre-Ambroise Bosse
narrowly qualified for the semi-finals which will take place on Sunday (1:25 p.m. French time).
Just like the sprinter
Jimmy Vicaut

The basketball players ensure, the handball players close to the exit
On the team sports side,
French basketball

The young Frank Ntilikina, injured since the start of the competition, has returned to form in the French ranks.
On the other hand, the mission is dangerously complicated for
the French handball players
, beaten by Russia by a small point (28-27) on Saturday and who point to the 5th position in group B. The Blue must imperatively win against Brazil in closing of the group stage to hope to qualify for the quarter-finals.
In short, Imperial Manaudou, the eliminated boxers
Florent Manaudou
honored his status as a French swimming star by securing the second fastest time in the semi-finals of the 50-meter freestyle, behind the impressive Caeleb Dressel. The swimmer from Marseille will set off to conquer a new Olympic medal in this event, after gold in 2012 and silver in 2016. However, it is over for
Maxime Grousset
and
Mélanie Hénique
, eliminated in their semi-finals. respective ones over the same distance.
No medal on Saturday for French boxing.
Sofiane Oumiha
and
Billal Bennama
both lost in the round of 16 in their category.
The verdict is frustrating for Oumiha, who could have won his fight against his American opponent Keyshawn Davis with better judgment from the referees.
