The French women's saber team won a new silver medal for the French delegation at the Tokyo Olympics after losing in the final against the Russian Olympic Committee (45-41).

The 19th medal falls into the hands of France, which is in 8th position in the standings.

The sabers lost in the final of the team competition at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday against Russia (45-41).

In front after the first four laps, the Blue led by Manon Brunet, individual bronze medalist in Tokyo, saw the Russians come back up to speed and take off before winning.

This is the 19th medal for France which consolidates its 8th position in the ranking of the Olympic Games.
