The Asia Pacific Golf Association has announced that Dubai has given confidence to host the 12th edition of the Asia Pacific Golf Championship, from the third to the sixth of November, with the competitions to be held on the courses of the Dubai Creek Yacht and Golf Club.

The AFC said in a press statement: “The tournament for amateur players will allow the champion of the 12th edition, which will be hosted by Dubai next November, to qualify for the (Masters) tournaments for masters and the Open Championship for professional players, provided that the runner-up will be awarded the final qualifying qualifiers for the Open Championship that is held annually in the United Kingdom. ».

The statement indicated that "the Asia-Pacific Championship, which was canceled in 2020 due to the repercussions of the (Corona) pandemic, dates back to the launch in November 2021, in competitions for the first time in the hospitality of the Emirates, in which the Game Federation has always enjoyed the confidence of the Asian and Pacific Confederation, which includes under its umbrella. Membership of 42 countries.

The statement added: "The Asian Championship will join the list of major world golf events and championships hosted by Dubai, the size of the (Dubai Desert Classic) championships within the European Tour, and the (DP World) championships, the final round of the race to Dubai."

Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the UAE and Arab Golf Federations, expressed his happiness at Dubai’s hosting of the Asian and Pacific Championships, and said: “We are excited for the UAE to host this huge continental event, which is being held for the first time in the country’s hospitality, in an exceptional opportunity for amateur and talented golfers, to compete in The highest level, in a tournament held with the support of the Masters Championships and the International Federation of the game.”

He added: “The hosting comes as part of the joint efforts exerted to enhance our mission of stimulating the growth and development of golf in the Asia-Pacific region, especially as its results represent a transit card to appearing at higher levels, both in participating in the Masters Championship and the Open Championship for professional players.”
