The Australian pair won the bronze medal after the men's singles world champion Novak Djokovic withdrew due to injury in the third-place playoff of the mixed doubles at the Tokyo Olympics and tennis.

The mixed doubles third-place playoff was scheduled for a pair of Serbian Nina Stojanovic and Djokovic and a pair of Australian Ashleigh Barty and John Peers.

However, the Australian pair won the bronze medal as Djokovic, who lost in the men's singles bronze medal match just before, abstained due to a left shoulder injury.

In the women's doubles 3rd place deciding match, Brazil's Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani won the bronze medal with a set count of 2: 1 over the Russian Olympic Committee pair.

The mixed doubles and women's doubles finals will be held on the 1st.
