Lindgren started the evening a bit swaying, with two points in the first two heats, of which one was a zero scorer.

He changed bikes before his third heat, and there he found better speed.

Three straight two-pointers and a total of eight points in five heats took Lindgren to the semifinals as the last driver.

Among other things, he had a tough battle with the elite series' most talked about driver of the day, the British Tai Woffinden, who was presented as new in Dackarna.

Lindgren won that duel on the finish line, while Woffinden had a worse night with a missed semifinal.

Lindgren started the semifinal from the yellow outer court, chasing Bartosz Zmarzlik and Artem Laguta in four laps.

But missed the final place and finished fifth overall and got twelve World Cup points, which means that he is also fifth in the World Cup summary.

Zmarzlik won the final

The final heat was won by reigning world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, who thus took the season's first World Cup triumph.

He won a rock-hard final before second and World Cup leader Maciej Janowski.

Janowski who was also involved in a controversial incident in the final, where Russian Emil Sayfutdinov crashed hard.

However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.

The competition's second Swede Oliver Berntzon had a new tough competition, and had to settle for a run-in point and 15th place.

The World Cup series continues already on Saturday night with a new competition in Wroclaw.
