The British newspaper "Daily Mail" revealed that the Egyptian player, Mohamed Elneny, caused an outcry among Arsenal fans, after he mistook a ball inside the penalty area, which resulted in a goal against his team's goal during the friendly match, Wednesday, against Watford.

Despite Arsenal's 4-1 victory, Elneny's (1-1) goal exposed him to a barrage of transfers on social media, until some went to demand his replacement with another player.

The newspaper quoted a series of angry and harsh tweets on Twitter, with one fan saying: “Ah, yes, the same old Arsenal look,” and another commented: “Al-Nani shows everyone why he should not play with our first team, and why we still need to Reinforcements in that central area.” “It is good to highlight that error, this is Elneny, a £5m player, who should not be regularly in the first team. I hope Arteta starts noticing that and looks for another player.”

Elneny joined Arsenal in 2016 from Basel, Switzerland, for eight million euros. He is considered a tactical player and has received great attention from former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger.
