22-year-old Sophie Hansson swam the day before yesterday her first Olympic final in her career, where she finished sixth in the 100 meter breaststroke - after she had the fourth best time in the semifinals.

Today she swam another semifinal, in the 200 meter breaststroke.

There she was more of an outsider.

"Felt great"

But Hansson hung on for a long time in her semifinal, and after a strong finish she finished fourth, in the time 2.24,28 - only four tenths of the personal record she set in yesterday's attempt.

- It felt great, I have a very good feeling in my body.

I put "pers" in the trials yesterday and swam a great time this morning, Hansson says to Discovery.

Was in the final after 50 meters

With her fourth place, a maximum of four swimmers had to be faster than Hansson in the second semifinal, if Hansson were to reach a new final.

After the first 50 meters of semifinal two, it was just four swimmers who were faster.

But when half the race was decided, there were two more swimmers ahead of Hansson - and so it was when the race was decided.

In the end, she was just over half a second from the final.

"Super happy"

Thus, it was a tenth place for Sophie Hansson, and no final.

But it was not something she was particularly depressed about.

- I will be tenth on 200 breasts, and am in the top ten in the world at a distance I do not fully invest in.

So I'm super happy, she said.

This was Sophie Hansson's last individual race in the Olympics.

However, on Saturday, the 4x100 meter medley awaits.
