With six sailings left of the basic round, the Swedes are in the fight for the medals.

Australian favorites Matthew Belcher / Will Ryan, who took silver at the Olympics in Rio five years ago, lead in the summary after winning both Thursday's races.

The British boat is in silver and the Swedes are third on the same placement points as the Greek crew.

Anton Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergström started the regatta in the men's 470 on Wednesday and won the first race.

However, the Swedes lost quickly and reached only 15th place in the second race on Wednesday.

On the women's side, Sweden is in a total of 15th place after the Swedish 470 duo, Olivia Bergström and Lovisa Karlsson, ended up in 10th and 16th place respectively in Thursday's sailing.

A total of ten sub-sailings will be made before the finals for ladies and men in the 470 class will be decided on 4 August.

Dahlberg and Bergström took World Cup gold followed by European Championship bronze this spring.

The men's duo has previously won silver in 2017 and bronze in 2019 in the two-man dinghy class.

At the Olympics in Rio 2016, they ended up in sixth place.
