• The day started with a bang at the Olympics where rowing brought France a third gold medal.

  • Judo, on the other hand, will pass its turn for today, with the eliminations of Clerget and Pinot.

  • Finally, note a nice perf 'in swimming, which we let you discover.

From our special correspondent in Tokyo,

Tut tut!

France wakes up with a third gold medal this morning thanks to rowing.

Judo, on the other hand, misses its day for the first time in these Olympics.

We tell you all about it.

The night of the French

What a race my ancestors, what a race! Hugo Boucheron and Matthieu Androdias won a magnificent gold medal in two sculls thanks to a last 500m of thunder. Our Frenchies ate the Dutch golgoths meter by meter and were able to resist to the line despite a small fright. Good news never comes alone (although sometimes it does, in fact… in short), Laura Tarantola and Claire Bové have validated their ticket for the final of the lightweight two-pair. We can hope for a new charm tomorrow on the Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo.

🇫🇷🥇 OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS !!

Air gap on the other hand in judo, which will not bring a fifth medal in a row.

Axel Clerget in -90 kg and Margot Pinot in -70 kg have already been kicked out of the Budokan.

For the rest, we note the early eliminations of Jean-Charles Valladont, yet reigning Olympic vice-champion, and Thomas Chirault in archery.

Qi Xuefei will not see the finals of the badminton tournament and Juliette Labous took 9th place in the cycling time trial.

However, we will end with a good performance, in this case that of the young Maxime Grousset (22), qualified for the final of the 100m freestyle.

See you tomorrow (4:30 am) for this race promised, of course, to Caeleb Dressel.

The star of the night

Second race and second title for the Australian Ariarne Titmus, crowned in the 200m freestyle.

“The Terminator” (her nickname) is the fourth swimmer in history only to achieve the 200m-400m double at the Olympics.

At 20, it promises ...
