The Iraqi Golden Generation player criticizes the removal of Katanic .. "We will not qualify for the World Cup"

The Vice President of the Iraqi Student Club and player of the golden generation of the Lions of Al-Rafidain Bassem Abbas said that his country will not qualify for the next World Cup due to the delay in hiring a new coach to lead the team after the resignation of the Slovenian Katanic after the delay in paying his financial dues for six months.

Abbas said in his speech to the Iraqi newspaper, "In Sport", "The decision to expel Katanc is not thoughtful and wrong because the present time is not appropriate for that, and the new coach will not lead us to the World Cup, and his removal led to a state of confusion after preparing the team for three years."

And former international Bassem Abbas played with the Iraqi national team, which won the 2007 Asian Cup with the Lions of Rafidain, led by Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira.

In the context of searching for a new coach, Iraqi media reported that Portuguese coach Queiroz turned off all his phones, which made it difficult for the Football Association's normalization committee to communicate with him to respond to an offer made to him to train the Rafidain Lions.
