A golden night for the French clan!

Matthieu Androdias and Hugo Boucheron won gold in rowing in the two-couple category on Wednesday at the Tokyo Olympics.

The two men offered France an eighth medal, the third in gold the day after the triumph of Clarisse Agbegnenou.

On the swimming side, the young Maxime Grousset (22) qualified for the final of the 100 m freestyle with the eighth time in the semi-finals. 

But the sportswoman who will be talking about her this Wednesday is undoubtedly the American Simone Biles.

The gymnastics superstar withdrew from the all-around team competition on Tuesday and explained "facing his demons".

Qualified for the individual all-around on Thursday, she is uncertain for the rest of the Games.

After two nights of disappointment, Matthieu Androdias and Hugo Boucheron brought a third gold medal to the French rowing team, in the two-couple category.

"We did everything physically", explained the French who think they have committed "a lot of mistakes".

“When it was complicated, I thought of everyone who is in the boat with us,” said Androdias.

An experienced crew, the two men have rowed together since 2015. Sixth in Rio, they have since won three international titles: world champion in 2018, European champion in 2018 and 2021.
