In Gyo-don (Korea Gas Corporation), who overcame lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, won a valuable bronze medal at the first Olympic stage in her life.

In Gyodon won the bronze medal by defeating Ivan Konrad Trikovich (Slovenia) 5-4 in the men's over 80kg bronze medal match on the last day of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Taekwondo match held at Makuhari Messe Hall A in Chiba, Japan.

In the first Olympic Games, In Gyo-don lost 6-12 to Dejan Georgievsky of North Macedonia in the semifinals and did not reach the final, but was placed on the podium by winning the bronze medal match.

In Gyodon was diagnosed with lymphoma in August 2014 when she was 22 years old, and she was not allowed to wear a uniform for five months until December of that year.

In Gyo-don said,

"When I started exercising again, I didn't even think of the word Olympics

.

" Over time, I won a medal at the Olympics. I wish,"

he said.

Looking back at himself,

he explained,

"I think the word human victory is a good fit

."

After winning a silver medal at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, In Gyo-don succeeded in recovering and reigned as the strongest Korean heavyweight.

In the summer of 2019, it was also determined to be completely cured.

In Gyo-don, who competed in the Olympics for the first time at a late age, said, "It's not a gold medal, but I'm very happy that I won it."

In Gyo-don added, "Even though I lost in the semifinals, I poured out what I prepared and lost, so I have no regrets or regrets."

When In Gyo-don was asked about his thoughts on the next Olympics, he said, "No," due to age and injuries.
