The diver Patrick Hausding and Lars Rüdiger won the bronze medal at the Olympics in Tokyo.

The European champions only had to admit defeat to the Chinese Wang Zongyuan / Xie Siyi (467.82) and Andrew Capobianco / Michael Hixon (444.36) from the USA in the synchronized competition from the three-meter board with 404.73 points.

With a strong run through the finals, Hausding / Rüdiger caught up to 20 points on the Mexicans Yahel Castillo / Juan Celaya who were in front of them.

For flag bearer Hausding it was already the third precious metal at the summer games.

At its premiere in Beijing in 2008, the record European champion won silver in tower synchronized diving, and eight years later he won an individual bronze from the board in Rio.

At the start of the water jumping competitions in the Tokyo Aquatics Center, the synchronized jumpers Tina Punzel and Lena Hentschel had already won the bronze medal.
