He added: This tournament is of great interest on the part of the African Union, which has allocated huge financial prizes, as each participating team will receive a large amount in addition to the huge financial prize for the winner of the tournament, which will reach 20 million dollars, which is the largest financial prize allocated by the African Union to one of its continental competitions. .

Zamalek officials object to the African Union’s decision to choose Al-Ahly as the champion of the century at its expense, on the grounds that it won nine continental championships compared to only seven for Al-Ahly.

Zamalek has continued this controversy over the past 21 years, as the former club’s board of directors headed by Mortada Mansour decided to file a complaint with the African Union to the International Federation “FIFA” because of this issue without reaching anything.

The African Union adhered to adopting Al-Ahly, the champion of the century, according to the classification it chose, threatening Zamalek not to use its logo in the celebrations it held last year for its celebrations of being the true champion of the century, and not to be suspended from participating in the continental championships.
