The Korean women's fencing team won a silver medal in the Olympic team event for the first time in 9 years.



The women's épée team, consisting of Injeong Choi (Gyeryong City Hall), Youngmi Kang (Seo-gu Office in Gwangju), Se-ra Song (Busan City Hall), and Hyein Lee (Gangwon Provincial Office), played 32-36 against Estonia in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic final held at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan. I lost and won runner-up.



The Korean women's épée made it to the final in the team event for the first time in nine years since the 2012 London Games, where she won a silver medal, and, as at the time, won a silver medal.



In the semifinals, they defeated China, the world's No. 1 player, to reach the final, raising expectations for the first gold medal in history, but unfortunately lost to Estonia, the powerhouse of epee.



Korean fencing harvested the second medal in the men's saber individual event on the 24th following the bronze medal of Kim Jeong-hwan (National Sports Promotion Agency).
