Injury deprives Ramos of the Champions League with Saint-Germain

Veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos received a shock, after his new club, Paris Saint-Germain, announced yesterday that he had suffered a calf injury, which will prevent him from participating in the Champions Cup match in football.

And the Paris club explained in a statement that the center of its Spanish defense “is in the phase of gradual recovery, after an injury he sustained in his left calf, while he was undergoing exercises last weekend.”

"He is expected to return to training within a week," he added.

Saint-Germain, winner of the French Cup last season, will face the local league champion, next Sunday, during the Champions Cup that will be held in Tel Aviv.

The former Real Madrid defender moved to the Parisian club on the eighth of July, in exchange for a free deal, after the expiration of his contract with the capital club, Madrid.

The 35-year-old defender, who won the Champions League four times among several titles with the Royal Club, signed a contract under which he will wear the Saint-Germain shirt for two seasons, specifically until 2023.
