A second Egyptian medal in the Tokyo Olympics, signed by Seif Issa

Egyptian taekwondo player Seif Issa, ranked fifth in the world, won the bronze medal in the -80 kg category, today, Monday, after defeating Norway’s Richard Andre Ordemann 12-4, giving the Pharaohs their second medal at the Tokyo Olympics, minutes after Hedaya Malak won the same medal in the 67-kg category.


Issa, the 2021 African champion, lost in the semi-finals to the first-ranked Russian Maxim Khrushchev, who participated under a neutral world, after he overthrew the Italian Simone Alessio, the 2019 world champion, from the quarter-finals.
