In the women's saber individual fencing round of 32 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, South Korea's Choi Soo-yeon and Cecilia Verde (France) faced off.



Suyeon Choi had a fierce battle with Cecilia Verde (France) and finished the first round with an 8:6 lead.



In the second round, Choi Soo-yeon's one-sided attack continued.



Choi Soo-yeon, who set the mood with three successful attacks, conceded three points in a 14:8 situation, but won with a score of 15:11.  



As Soo-yeon Choi advanced to the round of 16, all Korean players (Kim Ji-yeon, Yoon Ji-soo, and Choi Soo-yeon) who participated in the women's saber fencing individual event were all successful in advancing to the round of 16.
