Benjamin of the French selection at 24, swordsman Romain Cannone offers France its first gold medal in Tokyo this Sunday after an incredible tournament.

Swordsman Romain Cannone won Sunday at the age of 24 the first French gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics by beating the Hungarian Gergely Siklosi 15 to 10 touches in the final. Cannone, selected at the last minute for the Tokyo Olympics, has allowed French fencing to win its first individual title since foilist Brice Guyard in Athens in 2004.
