World No. 1 in men's golf, Jon Lam (Spain), has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.



The Spanish Olympic Committee announced that "Ram tested positive for COVID-19 before departing for Tokyo, Japan."



Lam, the winner of this year's US Open, is currently ranked number one in the world.



Ram, who had already been diagnosed with COVID-19 once in early June, was tested positive for COVID-19 again this time.



Prior to Ram, Bryson Disembo (USA), who ranked 6th in the world, also tested positive for COVID-19 before leaving for Japan and was replaced by Patrick Reed (USA).



De Chambeau was the winner of last year's U.S. Open, and both the 2020 and 2021 U.S. Open champions will not participate in the Tokyo Olympics.



In this year's Tokyo Olympics, among the top 10 men in the men's world rankings, 1st Lam, 2nd Dustin Johnson, 6th Dishampo, 7th Brooks Kepka, 8th Patrick Cantlay (USA), 9th Louis Ustheesen (South Africa) , and Harris English (USA) in 10th place, a whopping 7 people were missing.



The men's golf at the Tokyo Olympics will be held at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Saitama, Japan for four days from the 29th.
