Korea's Park Sang-young succeeded in advancing to the round of 16.



Park Sang-young, who made a comeback victory with tenacity and persistence at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will challenge for a second consecutive Olympic title.



Today (25th) Park Sang-young faced Jacob Hoyle (USA) in the men's epee individual fencing round of 32 at Makuhari Messe Hall B.



Park Sang-young succeeded in scoring consecutive goals with a light movement and took the lead with a score of 6-2 in the first round.



In the second round, he blocked the opponent's attack and stabbed and maintained a high score difference.



During the match, there was a risk of bleeding on the lip when bumping into the opponent, but he put on a mask again and succeeded in scoring immediately.

So the second round ended with a big score of 12:3.



Round 3 started with only 3 points ahead of 15 points, but Jacob Hoyle's aggressive attack narrowed the score to 14:10. 



However, Park Sang-young finished the game with a unique stab and succeeded in advancing to the round of 16.
