Jang Jun, the Korean Taekwondo national team who won a bronze medal in his first Olympic stage, promised better results three years later.

In the men's 58kg bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics held at Makuhari Messe Hall A in Chiba, Japan today (24th), Jang Jun defeated Hungary's Omar Salim 46-16 to take third place.

Shortly after the bronze medal was confirmed, Jang Jun met with reporters and said, "I'm glad I made up my mind and won the medal."

Regarding the loss in the semi-finals earlier, Jang said, "After losing, the burden went away." He said, "This is my first Olympics, so I did well even if I only won a medal," he said.

Jang Jun said that he could not compete due to Corona 19 and lost his sense of competition, saying, "If I go to the next Olympics, I want to prepare well and wear a gold medal around my neck."
