Under Coach Choi, Thai Taekwondo achieved a series of results, including winning consecutive medals (2 silver and 3 bronze) from the 2004 Athens Olympics to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

This is the first time Thailand has won a gold medal in the Taekwondo Olympics.

Director Choi naturalized to Thailand this year.
