The opening ceremony was unattended and the number of attendees, initially expected to be around 10,000, was reduced to around 950.

After the refugee team entered Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the march was held in the order of the Japanese syllabary, and the last three were the United States, the host country of the 2028 Games, and the 2024 Games. We will march in the order of the host country, France, and the host country, Japan.

The flag bearers of the Japanese team will be Rui Hachimura, a men's basketball player, and Yui Susaki, a wrestling girl.

It is worth noting who will be the final runner of the torch relay and how the torch stand will be lit.
