The Danish national soccer player Christian Eriksen cannot continue his career at Inter Milan or any other Italian club after his cardiac arrest during the European Championship.

Fabrizio Braconaro, member of the scientific commission at the Italian association FIGC, said in a radio interview on Thursday that it was not possible to give a game permit for a professional with a defibrillator inserted.

Eriksen (29) had collapsed in the first Danish European Championship game against Finland (0-1) and had to be revived on the pitch.

During an operation, he was implanted with a subcutaneous defibrillator that detects cardiac arrhythmias and, in an emergency, gives him a counter-shock.

Eriksen's contract with Inter runs until 2024. The midfielder moved to Inter Milan in January 2020, with whom he won the Italian championship last season.

The midfielder has not yet commented on a possible continuation of his professional career.
