If ever Mohamed El Arouch was disappointed not to be selected by Peter Bosz for OL's pre-season camp in Murcia (Spain), unlike other academy hopes such as Gusto, Lukeba, Da Silva , Keita, Thomas, Barcola and Bossiwa, he has just experienced a highlight by staying in Lyon.

The club has indeed formalized this Thursday the first professional contract (until 2024) of the versatile and technical midfielder of 17 years.

Closely observed by the many followers of the Rhone training center since his arrival at OL at the age of 13, from Orange, Mohamed El Arouch is the first player of the 2004 generation to go pro, four days after having had the opportunity to play a few minutes at Parc OL against Villefranche (2-0) and Wolfsburg (4-1).

“It's a dream come true.

It is now up to me to continue my efforts and work very hard to earn my place with OL's professional team, ”says the man who had been selected seven times for the France U16 team.

Three weeks earlier, OL had already made three other youngsters from their academy take the professional step, defender Castello Lukeba (2002), a real revelation against Wolfsburg, as well as strikers Sekou Lega (2003) and Samuel Bossiwa ( 2003), all linked to the club until 2024. Renowned for launching young players without hesitation, the new Lyon coach Peter Bosz could have some surprises in store by drawing from this season in these names still unknown to the general public.
