Kayaking is a relatively long-standing event in the Olympic Games. It entered the Olympic Games as a performance event in 1924 and became an official event in 1936.

As a water sports kayak, it has both strength and speed, and is full of impact in the look and feel, which makes people feel pleasing to the eye.

The kayak competition is divided into two sub-projects, still water and slalom, of which 12 gold medals will be produced in still water and 4 in slalom.

In this Tokyo Olympics, the Chinese canoeing team won all the seats except for the men's single kayak slalom.

For kayak women, Huang Jieyi, Yin Mengdie, Ma Qing, and Zhou Yu participated in the four-person kayak 500m event, Li Dongying and Wang Nan participated in the double kayak 500m event, Ma Qing participated in the single kayak 200m, and Zhou Yu participated in the single kayak event. People can kayak 500 meters.

Tracing back to the performance of Chinese canoeing in previous Olympics, the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics were the highlight moments. The combination of Meng Guanliang and Yang Wenjun won the men's double rowing 500-meter final. This is also the Chinese canoeing team in the Olympics. The first gold medal.

At the Beijing Olympics, the two achieved their title defense.

But since then, the Chinese canoeing team has no similar high-gloss performance in the Olympics.

At this Tokyo Olympics, the Chinese canoeing team made a comeback.

Liu Hao and Zheng Pengfei in the men's double rowing 1000-meter event are worthy of attention. The two won multiple World Cup championships in 2019. In Duisburg, the two also defeated the German combination Juul/Kreich Silently, the lead was 1.5 seconds, and created the world's best results in this project.

In the 500-meter women's double rowing project, the Chinese combination Xu Shixiao/Sun Mengya deserves attention.

In the Stillwater Kayak World Championships held with Hungary in August 2019, the two won the event, leading the second place by 1.68 seconds, showing their strong strength.

Looking at the Tokyo Olympics, if the Chinese canoeing team wants to achieve good results, it must break through the strong European rivals.

In the last Rio Olympics, Hungary lost only one event and won 3 championships, while Germany won 3 of the 6 men's championships.

In addition, in recent years, Brazil, New Zealand, etc. have frequently been on the international podium, and the kayaking competition of this Olympic Games will be very competitive.

It is hoped that the Chinese canoeing team can break through the siege and get on the podium as they wish in the Tokyo Sea Forest Aquatic Arena.
