Stade Rennais has its third recruit of the summer.

After the signatures of Loïc Badé (RC Lens, central defender) and the young Ghanaian Kamaldeen Sulemana (Nordsjaelland, winger), the Breton club has just signed the Norwegian defender Birger Meling.

Arrived at Nîmes Olympique last season, the 26-year-old left-back signed a three-year contract with the Breton club.

The amount of his transfer is around three million euros.

Norwegian international with 19 caps, he spent three seasons at Rosenborg BK, the most successful club in the country, before joining Ligue 1 last summer.

With the Crocos, Birger Meling had a full season despite the club's descent in Ligue 2.

"A very good opportunity", according to Florian Maurice

"It's a very good opportunity for us," said Florian Maurice, technical director of Stade Rennais.

He had a great season with Nîmes.

Every time we watched the Nîmes matches, he stood out as a strong element of their team.

"

“When I heard that it was possible to come, it really made me happy,” said Birger Meling.

With the group, we can do great things this season.

Having the opportunity to evolve in a team that plays the first places is a great challenge.
