China News Service, July 21. On July 21, Beijing time, the 138th Plenary Session of the International Olympic Committee was held in Tokyo. Brisbane, Australia, successfully won the right to host the 2032 Olympic Games.

Brisbane became the third Australian city to host the Summer Olympics after Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.

According to previous reports, the International Olympic Committee reformed the production mechanism of Olympic venues in 2019, and no longer adopted the previous model of identifying several official candidate cities and then voting.

The International Olympic Committee has established the "Olympic Host Committee" to replace the previous "Evaluation Committee" and is responsible for recommending multiple or single candidate cities to the IOC Executive Committee.

In February of this year, the International Olympic Committee announced that Brisbane, Australia, will become the "preferred host city" for the 2032 Summer Olympics. The IOC will cooperate with the Brisbane 2032 Olympic bidding committee and the Australian Olympic Committee for the 2032 Summer Olympics. Hold a targeted dialogue on matters.

International Olympic Committee President Bach said at the press conference, "After very intense discussions, we have agreed to this decision." The "Olympic Host Committee" will immediately begin detailed discussions with relevant Australian institutions.

If all requirements are met, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee will propose at the plenary session of the International Olympic Committee that Brisbane host the 2032 Summer Olympics.

Brisbane is the first city to be recommended in this way. After becoming the host city of the 2032 Olympics, Brisbane is also the third Australian city to host the Summer Olympics after Melbourne in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.
