Early in the morning of the 21st, asphalt grains were found scattered over a length of about 20 meters on a road in Fuchu City, Tokyo.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details of this road as it is a course for the Tokyo Olympics bicycle road event.

Around 4:30 am on the 21st, a person passing by found that asphalt grains were scattered on the prefectural road in Tenjin-cho, Fuchu City, and called 110.



According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the scattered asphalt is about 20 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, and the contractor took about 5 hours to remove it.



No one was injured.



This road is a course for the bicycle road event of the Tokyo Olympics that will be held from the 24th of this month, and there are no plans to carry out road construction in the surrounding area.



The site is near an intersection about 1 km northeast of Fuchu Station on the Keio Line, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the detailed situation.



According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which manages the road, there is no impact on the competition.
