It is a "difficult" decision, taken by Arsenal, in order to "protect the health and well-being of the players and staff" of the London club.
In a statement released Tuesday evening, the Gunners announced they were giving up their American tour, as part of pre-season preparation, because of "a small number of positive Covid-19 tests" among the group that was to cross the 'Atlantic.
Arsenal will therefore not play in the Florida Cup, where Inter Milan, Everton and the Colombians of the Millionarios are involved.
“Our apologies go to the organizers of the Florida Cup who did a fantastic job in the preparations and to our partners who organized events around our participation in the competition,” said the club coached by Mikel Arteta.
Among the positive cases for the coronavirus, no symptoms were detected.
Those affected were placed in isolation at their homes.
