At the beginning of last season, Johanna Skottheim got her breakthrough for real.

She took the first podium of her career in the World Cup in Kontiolahti, which was followed by a fourth place and a fifth place, and after two competition weekends, the 27-year-old from Transtrand was surprisingly third in the overall World Cup.

But then something happened.

The form dropped and when it was time for the World Cup it went hard.

After that, she did not get a place in the World Cup.

- I hope I will never feel as bad as I was then.

It felt like I was trapped in my own body.

Mentally, it is hard when you do not get the body to do what the head wants, she tells DT.

Got sleep problems

It was not just a worn body that made up for it.

Skottheim says that she also had sleep problems.

-Even in Kontiolax when the results were so sickly good, the feeling in the body was not good.

I had problems with sleep which led to even worse recovery and eventually became a vicious spiral.

Now Skottheim, which is selected in SOK's Top and Talent program, is working towards the upcoming Olympic season.

- I still aim to be the best in the world.

That bit never disappears, because I'm so competitive so I probably will not get away with it, she says.
