The Uruguayan national football team committed suicide, and the league matches were postponed

The Uruguayan Football Association decided to suspend all sporting activities on Sunday, to mourn the departure of former international defender Williams Martinez, a player for Villa Teresa in the second division.

Williams Martinez, 38, was found dead in his apartment, after he committed suicide.

The Uruguayan Federation published a statement expressing its shock at the departure of Martinez, extending its condolences to his family and sympathy for them.

Martinez had stopped sports a few days ago for a short period after he was infected with the Corona virus.

He also played several matches with the English team West Bromwich, and one international friendly match with the Uruguay national team.
