The high jumper Maja Nilsson managed 1.90 already as a 17-year-old, but then waited four years of injuries.

This year, however, the negative trend has reversed and she raised her personal best earlier this summer when she jumped 1.96 in Halmstad

- I have jumped high altitudes in training and I am not used to that.

I jumped 1.90 at the training camp and I have never done that before, for example, she tells SVT Sport.

The 21-year-old believes that the demands on elite athletes are high.

- You are on the border as an athlete and we have to do that to be among the best.

Sometimes it is one percent too much and then it is just a matter of going back a little and redoing and doing the right thing.

Knee problems have hampered

However, injury concerns are often reminded, even if they have diminished.

- The knee problem has been throughout the summer, it bothers a little of course.

But at the same time it goes up and down and it feels like it is under control, says Yannick Tregaro, Nilsson's coach.

But Nilsson himself chooses to be positive.

- It's just to go out and enjoy and have as much fun as possible, because then it usually gets the best, she says
