For the second year in a row, the UAE team is the champion of the Tour de France

The UAE team won the Tour de France title for the second year in a row, after his promising Slovenian rider, Tadi Bogacher, managed to be at the top of the standings after the conclusion of the 21st and final stage.

The 22-year-old Slovenian made cycling history by becoming the youngest rider to win the title for two consecutive years while cementing his position as the world's best Grand Tour rider.

His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, congratulated the wise leadership of the country, stressing that Taddy Bugacher's victory in the most famous and difficult cycling race in the world would not have been possible without the support of the leadership and the tireless efforts made by the entire team.

His Highness also thanked the Emirates team for its efforts in raising the name of the UAE in the world of cycling and strengthening the team's position as one of the best cycling teams in the world.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Aref Al Awani, said: “The Emirates team’s victory in the Tour de France reflects the country’s strategy to establish a healthy lifestyle in the community. The Emirates team has become a source of inspiration for many local cyclists as it encourages young people in the UAE to Professionalism in this sport, and the team’s achievements reflect its tireless efforts, hard work and enlightened planning, and we are all proud of the team’s performance, which raises the UAE flag high around the world.”

Tour de France champion Taddy Bugacher said: "The tour witnessed amazing races on great tracks, and now I can't describe how happy I am to be part of the Emirates team, and I am proud to be part of the team's journey and message, and thanked all his teammates."
