20 years, 9 months and 17 days.

Kalle Rovanperä is so old now that he has won his first WRC victory in his career.

The Toyota driver thus takes over the record from compatriot and stable manager Jari-Matti Latvala, who won the Swedish rally in 2008 when he was 22 years, 10 months and 7 days old.

And in what way did Rovanperä do it then.

Dominated the competition

After the home favorite Ott Tänak was forced to break during Friday morning, Rovanperä connected the grip on the lead and immediately on Saturday morning he made a jerk that apparently broke the main challenger Craig Breen.

In the end, Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen's winning margin was 59.9 seconds to Breen and Scott Martin.

- It has been a tough season and it feels good to take the win here in Estonia, it is almost a home rally for me.

It feels really good.

The season has been long and the results have not been so good, but we proved that the pace is there and we took it home, says a relieved and happy Rovanperä in the SVT broadcast afterwards.

Belgian Thierry Neuville was third, while superior World Cup leader Sébastien Ogier finished fourth.

Norwegian international

In WRC 2, it was a Norwegian international match between Andreas Mikkelsen and Mads Østberg and there Mikkelsen finally pulled the longest straw and won by 16.7 seconds.

In a fierce battle for third place between Marco Bulacia Wilkinson and Adrien Fourmaux, Bulacia was finally the strongest.

Swedish fifth place

Swedish jumper Tom Kristensson finished fifth in WRC 2 and thus fulfilled his goal which was simply to get all the way to the end of the competition.
