Football is characterized by aesthetic glimpses that delight its fans and increase their attachment to it and its stars, but the fun may sometimes turn into a tragedy because of the serious injuries that are not without the first popular sports matches in the world.

A report, published by the Spanish magazine "mejorconsalud", states that the excessive enthusiasm in some football matches raises the degree of excitement to high levels, sometimes leading to serious consequences, most notably injuries, some of which may be very dangerous.

In some cases, players miss 6 months or more due to various injuries, and some of them may end their careers at an early age due to a painful, chilling moment.

This report reviews some of those serious injuries that have remained stuck in the minds of fans of the round witch.

Eduardo da Silva

Despite the passage of many years, the images of the injury of Brazilian Eduardo da Silva continue to disgust.

The former Arsenal striker was the victim of a very violent intervention from defender Martin Taylor in a Premier League match against Birmingham in the 2007-08 season, which caused a fracture of the fibula bone in his left leg.

Injury forced da Silva to miss 10 months.

"The injury was so bad that I almost lost my leg," he said at the time.

His career later continued with Shakhtar Donetsk, Flamengo, Atlético Paranense and Legia de Warsovia.

Gabriel Sissi

Within two years, the French Gabriel Cisse suffered two horrific injuries.

The first occurred in 2004, in a match between Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers, where a strong intervention from Jay McAvely caused a fracture in his left leg.

In 2006, in a match against China, the player suffered another serious injury, after an interference from opponent Jing Jie, a broken tibia and a fibula fracture.

Despite this, Cisse refused to give up and continued to score goals at Marseille, Sunderland, Panathinaikos, Lazio, Queens Park Rangers, Krasnodar, Bastia, and other clubs.

Alf Ing Haaland

This star, who is the father of Erling Haaland, the current Borussia Dortmund player, was seriously injured after an intervention from the Irishman Roy Keane in the Manchester City and Manchester United match during the 2000-2001 season.

Kane later admitted that he had intentionally hurt Haaland, who had ruptured the ligaments in his left knee.

Unfortunately, the Norwegian failed to recover after 4 surgeries, and ended up retiring at the age of 31.

Manuel Pablo Garcia

The Spanish league witnessed the 2001-2002 season one of the most serious injuries in the stadiums, and the victim was Garcia, the right-back, who spent his entire career defending the colors of Deportivo La Coruna.

The injury occurred in a match against Celta Vigo, and the player suffered a double fracture of the tibia and fibula.

Michael Crone Daily

Denmark's Michael Krone Delle, player of Sevilla, suffered a fracture and a tear in his left kneecap during the 2016 European League semi-final first leg match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

After undergoing surgery, he returned to the field after 9 months, but he was never again that decisive player in the midfield.

His last experience was in Deportivo La Coruna, from which he decided to end his professional career in 2019.

Peter Check

When he was playing for Chelsea, the former Czech international goalkeeper suffered a serious head injury after colliding with Reading's Stephen Hunt inside the penalty area in the first minute of a Premier League match in the 2006-2007 season, which led to a fracture of his skull.

David Post

In 1996, England's David Post experienced his worst moment on the field, when the former Coventry City player collided with Dennis Irwin and Brian McClear.

The consequences were terrible, as the collision caused a double fracture of the tibia and fibula of the right leg.

His condition was further complicated by a staphylococcal infection, and his condition required about 26 surgeries.
