Olympic Village in Tokyo records the first case of corona

The Olympic Village in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, recorded the first case of infection with the emerging corona virus, days before the start of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, according to what the Olympic Organizing Committee announced today.

Toshiro Muto, the managing director of the organizing committee, did not reveal any information about the identity of the infected person or his nationality, and did not reveal whether the infected person had received the vaccine against the Corona virus or not.

But he said that all necessary measures were taken to prevent the spread of infection and to secure all those present in the Olympic village in which the athletes reside during the tournament competitions.

So far, tests have revealed that five athletes who arrived in Japan to participate in the Olympics have been infected.

The injured and their companions were isolated in the Olympic Village with strict hygiene standards.

Efforts by the Olympic Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee continue to reassure fans and participants in the Olympics that the Games will be safe for all.
