Brazilian Arthur will miss Juventus for three months

Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo will be absent from Juventus for three months, and therefore will not be with the team when he begins his journey towards regaining the local league title from Inter Milan, after undergoing surgery on his left leg.

In recent months, the former Barcelona player suffered from a problem with the membrane located between the tibia and the fibula of his right leg, forcing the 24-year-old to undergo a "successful" operation, according to Juventus, adding, "The recovery process takes approximately three months."

Juventus relinquished the Italian League title last season to Inter Milan after holding it for nine years, which caused the dismissal of Andrea Pirlo and the use of Massimiliano Allegri again to supervise the team two years after his departure.

Juventus begins its domestic league campaign at Udinese on August 22.
