It was a long race last winter when Marit Björgen made a comeback on the ski track, and it was a successful one.
The 41-year-old was second behind Lina Korsgren in the Vasaloppet.
This spring, it was also clear that Björgen will run five long runs in the Ski Classics next season: Jizerska Padesatka, Marcialonga, Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerenn and Reistadlöpet.
- I train to go five races this winter.
It will be 10-15 training hours a week, she tells VG.
Marit Björgen lives in Holmenkollen and this is also where the recharging for the winter takes place - together with her friend and former national team colleague Therese Johaug who also lives there.
- I have the opportunity to hook her, and I do too.
Thus, we also maintain social contact, says Björgen to the newspaper and continues:
- I am a competitive person and go all in when I have to compete.
I was inspired by the fact that it went so well in the Vasaloppet.
I did not really know what to expect, but I want to be part of the battle for the podium this winter.
