The Swedish women's national team comes from great successes in previous championships.

In the 2016 Olympics, they took a silver, and they most recently came from a bronze in the World Cup.

National team defender Hanna Glas has high expectations for this Olympics.

- We as a team probably have an incredible demand on us according to what we have achieved before and in previous championships, if we go far back in time, it has often been very good results, says Glas and continues:

- Everyone here has an enormous faith in the team and knows that we actually have the capacity to go all the way, then we will see if that happens.

The key to success

She herself comes from a great season in her Bayern Munich and wants to continue to top her performances during the championship.

- I myself also have extremely high demands on myself.

I think I come from a good season and have delivered well.

So I expect to be able to do the same thing now, says Glas.

Sweden will face several tough matches, not least when it comes to the premiere match against the USA.

To be able to keep a good defensive game, there is a key to success.

- The key will be communication, that we really help each other find good positions in the defensive game - in the box, play, defensive game.

It will be an extremely important key, exactly how we communicate with each other, and that we can find as good positions as possible for the next action that comes, says Glas

"Put the defensive"

National team colleague Jonna Andersson believes that the defensive work will be a key in the matches, not least against the USA.

- I still think to get it together from the beginning, feel safe from the start.

Maybe just in the premiere to put the defensive, we know it will be tough and it will be hot.

But it is the same for both teams.

But just putting the defensive makes us feel safe in a premiere and against the USA in particular, says Jonna Andersson.

Despite the tough opposition, Jonna Andersson feels secure with the Swedish team's defensive work.

- We have seen before that we are very strong defensively and keep it together very well and play evenly against, for example, the United States and top nations.

We are still confident with what we have done before and have experience from just that resistance, says Andersson.
