The central fan hall at the Tokyo Olympics is closed

The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee announced today, Thursday, the closure of the central fan plaza in the Japanese capital, to the public during the Summer Olympics due to the precautionary restrictions imposed to combat the emerging Corona virus.

The state of emergency continues in Tokyo one week before the start of the Olympics, with an increase in cases of infection.

The central arena, called Tokyo's "waterfront", near the Olympic Village and venues for skateboarding and cycling competitions, was to become a vital area for youngsters during the Olympics.

And 1,300 cases of corona were recorded in Tokyo today, the highest number of injuries in nearly six months.
