In May last year, she took a break from football due to mental illness.

A few months later, she was ready for Piteå in the damallsvenskan - and that was the turning point for the Swedish national team star.

- When I got to start training with the team and drive a little easy, it felt good.

I had to take it at my own pace and not stress about anything.

After that I just drove on and it felt good.

Piteå was eventually replaced by Hammarby, which is currently in third place in the damallsvenskan.

The 25-year-old has had an incredible season in the damallsvenskan and has shown great form.

For the Stockholm team, she is a key player and has accounted for eight goals so far this season.

Only national teammate Stina Blackstenius has scored more with her 12 goals.

"I did not believe"

But that the Hammarby striker would be part of Peter Gerhardsson's squad was not self-evident.

- I did not believe.

Or the Olympics was not something I thought about - then the focus was on other things.

But it is of course great fun that I am sitting here today, she says at a press conference.

What is your role in the team?

- For me, it is about contributing what I can and my top qualities.

If I get the chance, I'll take it.
