Statistics conducted by "Emirates Today" revealed that most of the Arab Gulf Football League clubs preferred to establish an internal camp in preparation for the new season instead of traveling abroad, 35 days before the start of the professional championships, namely: Al Jazeera, the league title holder, Baniyas, Shabab Al Ahli, Sharjah Ittihad Kalba, Al Wasl, Khor Fakkan, Al Dhafra, Ajman, Emirates and Al Orouba, while only three clubs chose the external camp, namely: Al Nasr, Al Ain, and Al Wahda preparing in Spain.

The 11 clubs preferred to stay in the country, benefiting from the distinguished infrastructure, and avoiding the side effects related to the continuing outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic in European countries, and the camp will be established in two periods, the first ending before the Eid al-Adha holiday, to resume after the holiday, which is the part that will witness the establishment of friendly matches in between them.

The new season will start on August 19, and the draw for the tournament resulted in the opening of Al Jazeera's match against Al Dhafra, while the rest of the matches will witness the UAE's confrontation with Al-Ahly youth, Al-Uruba with Al-Wahda, Ajman with Al-Nasr, Khorfakkan with Al-Ain, Bani Yas with Al-Wasl, and Sharjah with Al-Ittihad. Kalba.

And it is not the first time that clubs have set up their camp inside the country, as last year witnessed the same situation due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, which made the Arab Gulf League clubs set up their camps inside the country and witnessed the establishment of a number of friendly matches between them.

For his part, the former Al Ain team captain, sports analyst Salem Johar, confirmed that reality imposed itself on the clubs last year by setting up their camps internally, but that did not have much technical feasibility, and he told "Emirates Today": "In my estimation, the technical benefit was not Enough, we have seen a fluctuation in the performance of the clubs, for example, the Sharjah team, which entered the competition as the title holder and its performance fluctuated, perhaps only the Al-Jazira team was good.

Johar pointed out that the establishment of camps within the country has only financial and not technical feasibility, and said: “I think that setting up camps within the country only helps clubs to provide the budget that was going in exchange for setting up camps in European countries, and what I can say is that clubs last season did not You were at the level and so was the league competition in general.”

On the other hand, three clubs decided to set up their camps externally, as Al-Wahda team launched its external camp in the Spanish city of Elcante earlier this month, followed by Ba'ath Al-Nasr and Al-Ain.

Salem Jawhar commented that with the idea of setting up an external camp, he said: “The reason behind setting up the camps inside the country last season has vanished. Currently, travel has become available to more than one European country, and there are local clubs that will set up their camp abroad, for example, Al Ain team will camp in Spain".

Salem Johar considered that the high temperatures inside the country are the biggest challenge for the clubs, and said: “The climate inside the country is currently difficult to hold training, while in the outside camp the atmosphere is moderate and can play several friendly matches, in my estimation that it is technically more efficient to establish an external camp. ».
