Shohei Ohtani of the Angels, who is the first Japanese player to participate in the home run competition of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, lost to Soto of the Nationals 28 to 31 at the end of the extra time in the first round.
The home run competition is broadcast on NHK General TV and simultaneously distributed on NHK Plus.
