Kenya national team players who are holding a preliminary training camp in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture for the Tokyo Olympics interacted online with local elementary school students.

A preliminary training camp for Kenya's sevens rugby men's and volleyball women's national teams has begun in Kurume City for the Tokyo Olympics, which will start on the 23rd of this month.

On the 13th, Kenyan athletes participated from a hotel staying at an online exchange meeting with children from Kawakai Elementary School in the city.

Forty-three fifth- and sixth-grade children participated in the exchange event and introduced the Japanese culture and food to the six athletes.

Then, a friendly exchange continued, with Kenyan athletes asking the children, "Do you know what color the Kenyan flag is?"

At the end of the meeting, the children waved a small flag of the Kenyan flag and sent an ale in English saying, "You can do it."

A sixth grader said, "I don't have many opportunities to interact with Olympic athletes. I was happy to be able to interact with them, such as by communicating the goodness of Kurume."
