The international football referee, Ammar Al-Junaibi, identified four new steps, describing them as important, to avoid the problems of the video referee technology (VAR) next season, and said that many problems accompanied the application of the technology during the past season.

Al-Junaibi told «Emirates Today»: Four new steps are able to spare us the problems of (the mouse) in the new season, which is the use of the expertise of the new technical director of the referees committee, the English Richard Millen, as well as the new director of the referees administration Lee Robert, as well as the exploitation of the external camp. It is expected for stadium judges in Serbia, to apply practical training sessions on how to deal with video referee technology, and to develop a special program aimed at reducing the time it takes for arbitration cases for (the mouse), and reaching the optimal decision in the shortest possible time, especially by choosing the referee for the angle concerned. In a short time, in addition to the ability to display cases and snapshots of referees from the European Championship 2020, and how the European Championship referees deal with video technology, so that the stadium judges in the Emirates can benefit from it.

He said: I benefited a lot from the European Championship, especially in terms of cases related to (the mouse), and the distinctive thing about this tournament is that the time that the video technology takes to deal with arbitration cases is very little, to the extent that I, as a referee, did not feel the presence of (the mouse), and this It is due to the cumulative experience of the referees who led the European Nations Cup matches.

Regarding the preparations for the next season, he said that he focuses, as usual, on developing physical fitness, in addition to understanding the law, how to manage matches on the field, and benefit from his cumulative experience as a referee, considering that there is no football referee who does not make mistakes, and that it is very important for the referee to benefit from his previous mistakes. and strives to develop it.

He added, "During the external camp, there will be lecturers from the European and International Federations, and clips and recordings from the European Championship will be shown, and a practical application of the (VAR) technology."

Al-Junaibi revealed that stadium judges are currently implementing a training program developed by the referees' fitness coach, former referee Hassan Abdullah.

He pointed out that most of the arbitration cases related to video technology in the European Nations Championship, will be discussed during the upcoming foreign camp.

He stressed that what matters most to him in the next season, is to get out with the fewest possible mistakes from each match, noting that he has upcoming matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and he will work to honor the Emirati arbitration, by working on its management in a distinguished manner.
